2020/2021
The 13th European Diatom Meeting (formerly Central European Diatom Meeting) will be held at Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales, St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff, United Kingdom. It brings together scientists from Europe and further afield to discuss a broad range of topics in diatom research. Keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations are scheduled for 17th and 18th March 2020, followed by a one-day taxonomic workshop on the complex of species in the Fragilaria capucina group.

26th International Diatom Symposium 23-28 August 2020 / Yamagata Japan
​As always the symposium serves as an important forum for presenting and discussing all aspects of diatom research and provides an excellent chance to showcase state-of-the-art science, describe new techniques, and inform us of recent discoveries, including new taxa.

North American Diatom Symposium 2019
When: July 31 - August 4, 2019
Where: University of Georgia's 4-H Center in Eatonton, Georgia (United States)
Description of Meeting: International symposium participants will present their work in diatom research including biodiversity, evolution, ecology, systematics, biological assessment, paleolimnology, and nanotechnology. In addition to the scientific program, the meeting will include traditional NADS activities (the Scum Run and auction).
